Now, a little about BAGGU: The Brooklyn-based reusable bag company was founded by mother-daughter pair Joan & Emily Sugihara in early 2007. Unlike their counterparts, BAGGU is lead-free and every bag is ethically made with a practicality mindful of regional needs: California dweller Joan shops by car for a family of five and “wanted to make it affordable to switch from disposable to reusable shopping bags.” On the opposite coast, (former designer for J.Crew and Parsons graduate), Emily shops on food in NYC and needed a bag that fit in her purse for unexpected errands. Both loved the environmental aspect of the totes: In one year, a BAGGU can replace the use of 300 to 700 disposable bags.

BAGGU began with a collection of 8 bags whose shape and construction is modeled after the iconic plastic grocery bag. To date, the line has expanded to include over 150 styles of reusable canvas and nylon bags best known for their trademark palette of vibrant solids, neon highlighter shades, everyday neutrals, and bold strips donned on simple silhouettes.

The company’s studio is currently located in the creative, independently minded community of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. BAGGU is sold at www.baggu.com, specialty retail boutiques, and online stores nationwide including Fred Flare, J.Crew, MoMa design stores, UrbanOutfitters, and the Whitney Museum.

How amazing is this giveaway?! I’m so excited that one of my readers will finally get a chance to realize how awesome these bags are. Seriously, anyone can use these bags, boys and girls! Please share this giveaway with your friends and family. Spread the word! A special, special thanks to Jen from BAGGU for helping me coordinate this giveaway. Thank you so much, Jen! So readers, don’t forget to leave a comment indicating what color you would want!
